About HushVerified.
Learn everything about how HushVerified works on this page. The whole operation runs on a small team, who do the subscribing, the reading, the moderation and the badge checks themselves. Every product's score is built from verified user reviews plus our own editorial rating, and every review says whether we used the product or read the company's published terms.
The problem we work on
Most review pages in this market are pure affiliate websites. Reviews are fake and based on who has the best affiliate program with the highest payout, so a product can hold the top slot regardless of how good it is. The result is that ordinary customers can't tell a legitimate business from a scam until their card has already been charged, sometimes on a subscription they never knowingly agreed to and can't cancel.
What we do about it
We start by paying for an account ourselves where we can. Where we can't, we read what the company actually publishes, meaning the real checkout, the renewal price, the refund policy and the privacy terms. Reading only goes so far, though: if we can't subscribe and test the service ourselves, the company doesn't get the HushVerified badge.

Who we are
HushVerified is run by a small company of four people. That's the whole team: we do the subscribing, the reading, the moderation and the badge checks ourselves. There's no separate review staff and no outsourced moderation queue.
Being small is part of why the method works. Four people can't review everything, so we'd rather cover one category properly than fifty categories the way everyone else does. When a review is published here, one of us actually did the work behind it, and if you write to us about a rating, the person who answers is one of the people who built it.
The same thinking is behind our business badge. Each one is dated, lasts twelve months unless we re-check, and comes down if what we checked stops being true. You don't have to take the badge's word for anything: our verification page lists the checks themselves.
